On Monday 14 September 2026, Veloforum Schweiz Suisse Svizzera will bring together people at BERNEXPO who are involved in cycling, either professionally or on a voluntary basis. Experts from the worlds of politics, public administration, business, academia and sport will meet with representatives from associations, organisations and clubs to discuss the future of cycling in Switzerland. A look at Paris, where the cycling revolution is already a reality, will provide some guidance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the last Velosuisse General Assembly in November 2025, the quorum voted unanimously in favour of Velosuisse taking a more prominent political role in order to specifically raise and advance the sector\u2019s economic and infrastructure concerns within the federal political arena.<\/p>\n

The upcoming Veloforum on 14 September at Bern Expo in Bern offers an opportunity to address precisely this issue. Under the title: \u00abWhat Paris can do, what Switzerland wants \u2013 On the path from the current situation to a cycling nation\u00bb, Christophe Najdovski, former Deputy Mayor of Paris, will speak about the journey of this metropolis of millions towards becoming a cycling city. Michael Liebi, a spatial and transport planner and board member of the Swiss Cycling Conference, will outline how the cycling revolution is progressing in Switzerland. The significance of this year\u2019s event is evident from the high-profile list of political guests: The leaders of all the major Swiss political parties will be in attendance to debate the future of urban mobility in the transport policy arena. Transport Minister and Federal Councillor Albert R\u00f6sti will also address the gathering.<\/p>\n

Velosuisse is a partner organisation of the Veloforum and is also prominently represented in three key programme items, in order to bring the interests of manufacturers and importers directly into the debate. Participation is of great value to industry stakeholders, enabling them to build networks and engage directly with decision-makers. To attract as wide a range of participants as possible, ticket prices have been deliberately set low at CHF 120, so that as many industry members as possible can take advantage of this opportunity to have a say and, through their attendance, demonstrate the industry\u2019s interest and unity.<\/p>\n
