Cycle Week is expanding into French-speaking Switzerland in 2027: following six successful editions in Zurich, Switzerland’s leading national cycling festival will take place in Lausanne for the first time from 11 to 13 June 2027. Thereafter, Cycle Week will be held annually in both Zurich and Lausanne. Long-term partnerships have been established with both cities.

The expansion to Lausanne marks a significant milestone in the development of Cycle Week. Since its launch in 2021, the cycling event – which emerged from the merger of the former Bike Days in Solothurn and the Urban Bike Festival at Zurich’s Schiffbau – has established itself as a national platform for the entire cycling world. It brings all aspects of cycling to life: from everyday mobility and leisure to tourism, sport, innovation and urban cycling culture.

With Lausanne, this successful concept will also be established in French-speaking Switzerland from 2027 onwards. The city offers ideal conditions: a first-class event venue in Ouchy right by the lake, a dynamic cycling scene, growing popularity of cycling, a strong sporting and events culture, and a robust policy to promote cycling with over 135 km of cycle paths.

Cycle Week recognises the growing importance of mobility that promotes health, is space-efficient and sustainable. At the same time, it meets the need for interactive events that bring together a diverse range of people and interest groups. The varied programme, featuring shows, competitions, exhibitions, workshops and group rides, creates opportunities for families, leisure cyclists, sports enthusiasts, commuters and industry professionals to meet.

With this new direction, Cycle Week is strengthening its role as a national cycling festival and building a bridge between French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland, which also benefits the cycling industry.
