Velosuisse, the association of Swiss bicycle and bicycle parts suppliers, has received a welcome addition. With Specialized and myStromer, two renowned, internationally active companies with Swiss business headquarters could be won for the association.

Specialized, founded in 1974 by American Mike Sinyard, has made a name for itself as the first large-scale producer of mountain bikes and high-quality carbon racing bikes. With its innovative electric bikes, which have been developed in Cham near Zug for the entire global market since 2009, the US company also plays a formative role in the e-bike segment.

Just like the Swiss company myStromer AG, which has its headquarters in Oberwangen near Köniz and was founded in 2010. From the very beginning, Stromer has specialized in the production of fast e-bikes with rear-wheel hub motors that support up to 45 km/h. As early as 2014, the S-pedelecs had cell phone network connectivity and can be located via the Stromer app and unlocked and locked using a digital immobilizer.

Velosuisse President Marcel Boller is pleased about the prominent additions. On the occasion of a tour of the factory in Oberwangen led by Stromer Managing Director Jakob Luksch, Boller took a look at the production of Stromer e-bikes. He said, "myStromer - like Specialized - is a real asset for the association. I look forward with excitement to further exchange and cooperation." Jakob Luksch replied, "I'm very much looking forward to establishing the speed pedelec even more strongly as the commuter vehicle of choice together with the members of Velosuisse."
