Schweizer Fahrrad- und E-Bike-Verkaufsstatistik
Seit 2002 erhebt Velosuisse bei seinen Mitgliedern die an den Handel gelieferten Fahrräder in verschiedenen Kategorien. Seit 2020 werden diese Zahlen an die Importstatistik des Bundesamtes für Zoll und Grenzsicherheit angeglichen, um den Gesamtmarkt noch präziser abzubilden. Unter Angabe des Urhebers (©Velosuisse) dürfen die statistischen Daten für medienredaktionelle, wissenschaftliche und schulische Zwecke honorarfrei verwendet, zitiert und weiterverbreitet werden.

Velosuisse InfoTech 2026 wieder im Aufwind
„Zuversichtlich in die Velozukunft“: Das Motto der diesjährigen InfoTech spiegelte sich im erfreulichen Publikumsaufmarsch, der deutlich über dem Vorjahres-Niveau lag, und der positiven Grundstimmung. 758 Tickets wurden für den zweitätigen Fahrradfachhandels-Schulungsanlass im Seminarhotel Sempachersee in Nottwil abgesetzt.
Wechsel an der Spitze von Velosuisse
Mit Nathalie Schneitter wird erstmals eine Frau Präsidentin und Geschäftsführerin des schweizerischen Fahrradlieferantenverbandes Velosuisse. Sie löst Marcel Boller (Präsident) und Martin Platter (Geschäftsführer) ab, die seit November 2019 im Amt waren. Der Wechsel erfolgt auf eigenen Wunsch der Zurücktretenden im Zuge einer umfangreichen Neuausrichtung des Verbands.
Swiss Skills: Die besten Fahrradmechaniker der Schweiz
An den SwissSkills in Bern wurden vom 17. bis 21. September 2025 zum vierten Mal die Schweizermeistermeister in den Zweiradberufen erkoren. Dabei setzte sich der 18-jährige Lorin Engeli von Randenbike aus Beringen bei den Fahrradmechanikern durch. In einem hochstehenden Wettkampf meisterte er die acht Aufgaben am besten.

The Swiss think tank Avenir Suisse has analyzed the speed of public transport in cities using 100,000 Google Maps data sets and comes to a rather sobering conclusion. The average speed does not even reach twice the speed of walking. Or to put it another way: you would always be faster on a bike and on an e-bike anyway.

"Thömus" is a new Velosuisse member
At its last board meeting, the bicycle industry association Velosuisse accepted "Thömus" as its 38th member and is delighted to have company founder Thomas "Thömu" Binggeli, a politically well-connected Bernese, in its ranks. Binggeli was co-founder of Veloforum Schweiz Suisse Svizzera and recently made a name for himself with the announcement that he will take over 12 of 14 Bike World branches of retail giant Migros on March 1, 2025.
